What to expect
Most interview cycles for Full-Time positions at BOLD follow this process:
Step 1: Initial Call
This call helps establish an understanding of your skills, experience, and career goals. You can expect questions regarding your background and relevant work experience. Here's where you can share notable achievements demonstrating your talents and capabilities. We'll discuss the position, including the key responsibilities and requirements, and answer any questions you may have.
Lasting about 30 minutes, our goal is to offer valuable insights about our company and this particular role to see if you're a good fit for us, and us, for you.
Step 2: Hiring Manager Call
For this portion of the process, you'll meet with the hiring manager for 30-60 minutes (duration depends on the position for which you are interviewing).
You'll discuss your relevant experience and explain how your contributions can (and will) lead to success. It's also an opportunity to evaluate and align your talents and capabilities. This interview provides insight into the team, the hiring manager's style and expectations, projects, and BOLD's culture.
Step 3: Assessment
Candidates who reach this stage have demonstrated the necessary skills and experience and appear to be a great cultural fit to work with BOLD.
This assessment consists of a 45-60 minute live exercise where you'll be presented with a scenario specific to the job you are interviewing for. This could be a product assessment, technical assessment, or portfolio review.
The goal is to further evaluate your experience and knowledge related to the work you'll be doing in the position. This assessment helps us determine your proficiency.
Step 4: Virtual Interview
During this virtual interview, you will meet individually with 2-3 team members (this includes the team you'll be joining and/or collaborators) via Zoom for about 30-45 minutes each.
These meetings help you better understand the team, its projects, and its goals. These also give you a chance to highlight your experience and ask questions.
This process also allows you to learn from the team members' experiences working with BOLD, further enriching your understanding of the company.
Step 5: Offer
A hearty "Congratulations!" is in order. You've impressed us, and hopefully, we've impressed you. We'd like to bring you on as a part of our team.
Human Resources will reach out with a formal offer letter outlining the terms of your employment, including your salary, benefits, and any other relevant information for you to review. If you decide BOLD is the place for you, we'll have you sign on the dotted line!
We are here to help
Did we mention our job is to help people find jobs? So we wouldn’t leave you out in the cold!
Here are a few tips to review before your interview.
Test Your Equipment
Download Zoom. If you haven't used Zoom before, explore its capabilities. Test the audio and video functions (especially on the day of your interview) to ensure there are no issues at your interview time.
Prepare the same way you would a face-to-face interview. Make sure your appearance is professional, and find a quiet, uninterrupted place to chat. Also, use one of the Zoom backgrounds if you'd like.
Do Your Research
Doing some research on BOLD and the individuals you are interviewing with is a good idea. Take a look at our LinkedIn and Glassdoor profiles. View employee profiles, read reviews, and get an idea about our company culture. Gaining insight into the organization is a good way to ease anxiety and help you feel more confident.
Tell Your Story
The STAR method is a helpful way to navigate an interview. It is a structured way to respond to questions that people find useful.
It’s always a good idea to come with some questions of your own. Asking questions shows your interest in our organization and the role, and provides clarity to ensure you’re the right fit for us and we’re the right fit for you.
We hope this information helps you navigate the interview process and highlight your talents. Enjoy the process, and we wish you the best of luck!
